BMW 5 AND 6 SERIES PROBLEMS

When you buy a new car from an expensive and reputable car manufacture like Bmw you expect quality and not quantity.
German giants Bmw who are manufactures of  the best quality cars like Rolls-Royce, Bmw and Mini cooper. Bmw have reported that they are recalling 365 000 Bmw's in the United States namely the 5 series and 6 series models that were manufactured between 2003 and 2010. The German giants said that the problem faced by these cars is the battery cable cover in the trunk was incorrectly installed and this problem could lead to troubles such the cars will struggle to start and the might be cases of fire because the problem is viewed as an electric fault. Bmw says that it will inform all owners of the Bmw 5 and 6 series by mail to bring their cars to the nearest Bmw service garage for a 30 minute service which is free of charge to all the owners. Bmw also announced that they will also be recalling Mini coopers and Rolls Royce over water pumps problem and the most amazing news after all this is that the Bmw group sales are up by 12% at the markets which clearly shows that the PR department came up with a good crisis management strategy that will save the companies image and boosts sales also.

  1. I think those car manufacturies they have to ensure that the parts of their cars are installed correctly before selling and expoting them to other countries. This will cause lots of accident due to poor installation of their cars.

  3. well damage is done and there is no need crying over split milk. it is also clear that BMW came up with an amazing crisis management plan thus this issue was not all over the media and the sales instead of decreasing they increased. lets just hope that they learnt from this mistake and will be more careful next time.

    1. miss nqwaba i feel what you are saying and yes how amazing that they had a crisis that could have saw BMW sales decreasing instead they increase so this can only point to PR practitioners that did their home and made sure the crisis was well dealt with.

    2. Well i do agree that it was a good crisis management plan on BMW's part of recalled the vehicle, but has any of us thought of the possible accidents caused by owners due to these faults?I hear SS Nqwaba saying "there is no need crying over split milk", where is the moral campus in that? Or are you saying that there is no need to implement such contingency plans to prevent even more of faults?Lets try and put ourselves in the position of families who've sufered the loose...MokD

    3. well mok its one of those cases that go hand in hand with brand loyalty and knowing what Bmw is capable of offering when it comes to cars and yes we do feel for the families who have lost their loved ones but reality is these cars had problems with battery cables which makes this cars highly imposible to start so how sure are we that the are families who've lost their loved ones due to this problem.

  4. I think its good that they have realised the problem and that they recalled the cars back, it makes them very reliable car dealers. Rolls Royce is a british car my friend but you not the only one making that mistake.

    1. yes it is but clive lets be more realistic if you have read the blog in detaile it says that these cars have battery cable fault which in my own view as a car owner you should try getting your car checked and sorry for the guy who lost his life.

    1. yes i do agree but let us not try and blame Bmw because mistakes like these happen for example last year Toyota also recalled Toyata yaris model for the brake failer problem which in my view is one huge mistake because that could have put the ownwers lives in danger.

  8. I say BMW should have thoroughly checked their cars...but the most important thing is that they have acknowledged their problem before any damage could have occured.

    1. well refi mistakes do happen but most important is the fact that the company took full responsibility for their own actions which makes them very reputable and caring about their customers safety.

  11. Well done to BMW for informing their followers about this mistake before further damages.Companies like this one will always be the leading companies because it understand the relationship that it has with the public.I think that informing the public before further crisis was another way of maintain its relationship with its customers.

  12. Yes miss Moimane I agree with what you are saying because relationships are one fundermental aspect in making sure that an organisation like Bmw retains its good image to the public and suppoters.

  13. That is bad, I did not expect this problem on top range cars. Please tell me what will be done if someone has had an accident caused by this poor installation?

    1. well the only thing that I can say is yes no one expected this problem to be encountered by Bmw but what can we say the damage has already been done.

  14. Wow you would not expect BMW to make mistakes like that. Despite the fact that they will fix the cars but do you think the amount of trust the BMW drivers and people who still want to buy a BMW will be the same i mean simple mistakes like that can raise a lot of concern.

    1. These simple mistakes can cause a whole lot of damage Michell especially for a company like Bmw which has a good reputation from the way they conduct their business and the respect they have from consumers who have what we call brand loyalty to the company.
